4-Butylresorcinol CAS 18979-61-8

Tyrosinase plays a pivotal role in melanogenesis as it regulates the rate of melanin deposition. 4-Butylresorcinol exerts an inhibitory effect on melanin production through two key pathways: directly suppressing tyrosinase activity and inhibiting tyrosinase synthesis in B16 melanoma cells without inducing any cytotoxicity. In vitro studies have demonstrated that 4-Butylresorcinol effectively inhibits melanin formation, as well as the activity of tyrosinase and TRP-1 (Tyrosinase-Related Protein 1).
