4-Butylresorcinol CAS 18979-61-8

(1 customer review)

Synonyms:577, 4-Butylresorcin, 1,3-Dihydroxy-4-n-Butyl Benzene. A  highly effective tyrosinase inhibitor for skin care. 4-Butylresorcinol (577) significantly reduces melanin production to treat hyperpigmentation, age spots, and uneven skin tone. Supported by clinical studies. Ideal for whitening serums, creams, and spot correction treatments.

Tyrosinase plays a pivotal role in melanogenesis as it regulates the rate of melanin deposition. 4-Butylresorcinol exerts an inhibitory effect on melanin production through two key pathways: directly suppressing tyrosinase activity and inhibiting tyrosinase synthesis in B16 melanoma cells without inducing any cytotoxicity. In vitro studies have demonstrated that 4-Butylresorcinol effectively inhibits melanin formation, as well as the activity of tyrosinase and TRP-1 (Tyrosinase-Related Protein 1).
